Our world is falling apart because we focus on things other than Jesus. We spend our time focusing on self rather than others. Our society seems to programme us to fear, to encourage us to spend more money and consume more things. Our world is built on greed and selfishness. At the moment, this selfishness has reached crazy levels.

We have a choice, we can choose to follow Jesus and his plan of love or let sin and selfishness rule us.  Because Jesus is God, he is able to take the punishment for our sin and poor choices so we can live with Him forever in heaven. If we choose to continue to be selfish, we will continue to suffer the consequences, including the ultimate consequence of death forever.  When we invite Jesus to become our friend, he forgives our selfishness and sin and he helps us live a life of love.

When Jesus was asked about the time before God’s kingdom would be set up, he said, “ When you hear of wars and revolutions, do not be frightened. These things must happen first… Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and plagues in various places, and fearful events.” (Luke 21:9-11)

We don’t have to be afraid of a world going crazy. Jesus has told us this will happen, but that he is coming back to earth to make everything new. With Jesus as our friend, he can turn our world right side up and give us peace, no matter what is happening around us.
